Kris Clark is a Scottish actor and singer based in Glasgow, who regularly performs in musicals and plays at some of the city's most vibrant theatres. He trains vocally with David Blackwood, and is a former pupil of Derek Rangecroft, mbe.

Kris's favourite venue is The King's Theatre, where he has performed in many major musical productions. Principal roles include Simon Stride in Jekyll & Hyde, Perchik in Fiddler on the Roof, The Kralahome in The King and I, Gremio/Jack in Kiss Me Kate, Apostle in Jesus Christ Superstar, Willie in Copacabana, the tap-dancing Footman in Me and My Girl, a singing Fisherman in La Cage aux Folles, Louis/Goon/Kop in Mack & Mabel, and Noah Claypole in three successive seasons of Oliver! (2000-2002).

He played Bosun in Return to the Forbidden Planet (in which he also played trombone) at Gilmorehill G12 in Glasgow's West End, before reprising the role for one night only at the Waterford Theatre Royal in Ireland. He also appeared at G12 in the World Première production of Musical Chairs, a new musical written and directed by Graham Duffy.

Kris has also acted in a number of plays, appearing as Gerald Croft in An Inspector Calls at the Cottier Theatre, Freddy Eynsford-Hill in Pygmalion, Alec Morrison in Men Should Weep, Ewan Tavendale in Sunset Song, Mort Hollender in California Suite, and Reg Stringer/Aunt Lillian in Strike Up The Banns - all staged at the Village Theatre, Charlie Martin in On Golden Pond at Kidston Hall, and Mr Kelvil, M.P. in A Woman of No Importance at the Eastwood Park Theatre.

In 2003, Kris appeared as Dancaire/Reme in the World Première of A Carmen, the launch production of a new 246 seat performing arts venue in Australia. The Byron Bay Theatre Company production boasted a mix of theatrical styles, based on Merimee's Carmen and Nabokov's novel Invitation to a Beheading, with music influenced by the Bizet opera. Whilst Down Under, he began training in the Japanese art of Butoh with renowned choreographer Cheryl Heazlewood, and has since devised two new works named Surprises and Raising The Bar, which he hopes to stage soon in Scotland.

A keen soloist, Kris won the Songs From The Shows class at Dumfries Music Festival in the millennium year, and performed at The Theatre Royal, Dumfries in 2002. He also sang in The Sound of His Music at The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, hosted to celebrate Richard Rodgers' centennial year in association with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra. Kris also sings with a number of concert parties and charitable groups, so look out for him at a local venue near you.

Earlier stage credits include Scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz, Prince Chulalongkorn in The King and I, Kurt in The Sound of Music and Willie in the Scottish play The De'ils Bargain whilst at school, as well as a host of roles from Prince to Genie in local pantomime.

In addition to voiceovers for TV and radio, extra work has included the short film Marcie's Dowry for the BBC's Tartan Shorts series, Series 2 of the cult drama Sea of Souls, and filming for an annual NHS Health Scotland advertising campaign which promotes positive awareness of breastfeeding.
